About The Hirss Brothers
Rom and Galen Hirss were raised on Lopez Island, where their mother, Holly, owned and operated Holly B’s Bakery. Growing up in the San Juan Islands and working in their mom’s bakery at a young age, they gained firsthand experience in customer service, engaging enthusiastically with tourists and locals alike.
In their teens and early twenties, Rom and Galen worked as carpenters for Chicovsky Construction on Lopez, learning a strong work ethic and the ins and outs of custom home building. They later helped build homes on Lopez Island, the Big Island of Hawaii, and in Aspen, CO.
Their grandfather, Ted Bower, was an accomplished architect who studied under Frank Lloyd Wright and later established a successful practice in Seattle.
Ted and his wife, Diana, an artist and co-founder of Chimera Gallery, moved to Lopez Island in the early 1990s. Rom and Galen remember watching Ted hand draw house plans at his drafting table.
Their diverse background in business, design, and construction has made them leading realtors in the Northwest.
Since 2012, they have helped clients buy and sell over 300+ homes, are founding brokers of Compass Bellingham and the Compass office on Lopez Island, serving the San Juan Islands.
Partnering with Rom and Galen means leveraging their experience and contacts built over a lifetime in the PNW and the benefits of #1 brokerage in the nation, COMPASS, to achieve your real estate goals.
